I’ve sat down to write this post a number of times. I always find myself stuck at the beginning. So I do what any creative writer would do- skip to the middle and see if things pick up there. No such luck. Maybe, if I start with the end I will find the words to say? Still no.
Basically, I want to finally tell you about the daydream I’ve been mulling over. The daydream that I quit my day job for. The “What” behind the “Why” I wrote about last week in my Manifesto.
I’ve practiced telling other people about the dream. But putting it “on paper” so to speak makes everything feel a lot more real.
As you may know, I recently moved states from the desert in Phoenix to the Bay Area in California. We sold our house and I quit my job. I am essentially starting over in a brand new town. It’s exciting and fun and also scary and intimidating.
There’s a lot of change going on, but more than anything I’ve stumbled across Free Time like I’ve never known before! Free Time that actually gives me an opportunity to pursue some dreams and passions that I’ve been putting aside for a while.
So I am sure you are wondering, “so what’s the daydream already?”
Here it is: For years now, I’ve dreamed of developing streams of income apart from a typical 9 to 5 career. And now I have the opportunity to do that. To pursue the freedom that comes with active, passive, and residual income that doesn’t require a commute or clocking-in.
Sounds like a lofty goal, right? It totally is.
And yet, I know there are a lot of people out there who have successfully built websites, businesses, and brands. So why not me?
So here’s what the daydream looks like practically speaking:
I own three different websites with earning potential. They are all three in different niches and all three have a different target audience. My goal is to monetize these websites in different ways. (I’ll be outlining these different sites for you in an upcoming post.)
Apart from the three websites that I own, I am also giving direct sales a try. You may have heard of It Works! products. (Also known as “That Crazy Wrap Thing.”) I signed up to be a distributor with them, because the company fit in well with my Manifesto. (Drop me a line on my contact page if you want to hear more buying or selling the products yourself!)
So what does that mean for you? Well if you’ve been reading along for the past year or so, I want to thank you so much for sticking with me while I explored the world of blogging. I hope you’ll continue to stick around because I truly believe the best is yet to come.
From here on out this blog will be dedicated to chronicling my life as I explore a new city while pushing into the world of developing passive (and active) income streams online.
This is going to be less of a “how-to” site (there are LOTS of sites out there for that) and more of a “how” site.
How my life looks now that I live in a new city with free time to connect with my dreams.
How I am learning and implementing new strategies into my blogs and businesses.
How I am staying focussed, inspired, creative and efficient in my new life.
How my passions grow, change, and morph along this journey.
Even if you’re not interested in developing passive income streams online, I hope this blog will still provide value to you. I’ll be continuing to write about following dreams, setting goals, and seeing passions fulfilled and I hope to spark your creativity, your confidence, and a desire to follow your own dreams as well.
I know we all get really busy sometimes – but no worries, there’s lots of ways to stay connected to what’s going on around here. Follow me on social media or subscribe to my mailing list (see sidebar for both!)
I’m taking a leap of faith to pursue a dream. I truly hope that when you read my story, you’ll decide to take a leap of faith to see your dreams come true as well!
So Tell Me:
1) Have you ever moved to a brand new town? What hints and tips do you have for me?
2) What online blogs or brands do you most admire? What do you love about them?
3) If you all of a sudden had an extra 40 hours in your week- what would you most want to spend your time on?
